What is the Gira Sole Art Association?
Last update 2007-11-05
The aim of the Gira Sole Art Association is to promote the art and cultural collaboration between Italy and The Netherlands by organising In-Situ projects, workshops, exhibitions and publications. The aim is also to organise annual events such as exhibitions or In-Situ projects in The Netherlands or Italy.
The goals will be reached through the organisation of a diversity of activities. In-Situ projects are activities where artists get together on site to explore, in a relatively short period, artistic and/or cultural activities that represent a common interest and lead to a joint result. These results will be exhibited, documented and published in book and/or multi-media format (web-site, DVD) covering one or more of the following areas:
- photography
- sculpture
- writing/poetry
- painting
- cooking
- film/video.
Possible sources of income are:
- gifts or donations of money or ‘in natura’ from private persons or companies
- subsidies or sponsoring from companies or organisations
- from sales of artworks and publications by the Association Gira Sole Art.
Committee meetings will be held on a yearly base. During these annual meetings the Committee Members are appointed or re-elected and future activities and the financial means discussed. Also during the Annual Meeting decisions can be taken regarding the continuation of the Association Gira Sole Art for a fixed period.
Committee members of the Association are currently:
President Mr. J. Bloem
Secretary Ms. J. Rundle
Treasurer Mr. P. Smits
